Dry Needling

Dry needling is an effective therapy that uses a very thin needle to help reduce pain caused by muscle spasm, trigger points and chronic tightness.

When performed in combination with chiropractic adjustments and manual therapy, dry needling can drastically reduce treatment times and improve outcomes.

This is an excellent addition to your care for things like headaches, neck pain, back pain, shoulder injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, hip tightness, hamstring injuries, knee pain, foot pain and so  much more!

On your first visit, you will be evaluated for changes to muscle tissue and tone that may be contributing to your injury or condition. This may include muscle trigger points, stiff or tense muscles, spasms and even sleepy muscles that need to be woken up.

Depending on the person and condition, we typically start with around 5-10 needles.

I know needles might sound intimidating, but most of the time you won’t even know we did anything. Some of the time, you will feel the muscle cramp slightly around the needle as we place it. This is completely normal and signals that we are in the right place.

The needles are left in place for about 5 minutes as the nervous system begins to relax the muscles in the area. After treatment, most people experience an immediate change to their prior condition that only improves as the day goes on.

Dry needling works best in succession, so generally I will recommend 3-5 treatments to thoroughly cover the area and bring about lasting relief.

Dry needling is as close to magic as I’ve ever seen when it comes to healing stubborn injuries.
