Feeling Good with Dr. Jesse Czajka Podcast

Achieve Optimal Health

Mornings can be tough, especially if you wake up feeling stiff or sluggish. But incorporating a few minutes of gentle movement into your morning can make a huge difference in how you feel for the rest of the day.
It might sound too good to be true, but the science behind it is solid. When you take deep, intentional breaths, you’re sending a signal to your brain to relax, which in turn slows down your heart rate and lowers your blood pressure.
Another tip is to eat your water. Yes, you heard that right! Many fruits and vegetables, like cucumbers, oranges, and watermelon, have high water content and can contribute to your overall hydration. Including these in your meals and snacks is a tasty way to boost your water intake.
To correct your posture, start by sitting or standing tall. Imagine a string pulling you up from the top of your head. Roll your shoulders back and down, and engage your core muscles to support your lower back. When sitting, make sure your feet are flat on the ground and your knees are at a 90-degree angle.
Stretching might seem like a small part of your day, but its benefits are huge. Whether you’re sitting at a desk all day or constantly on your feet, taking just a few minutes to stretch can make a big difference in how you feel and move.
First, try incorporating movement breaks into your daily routine. Set a timer to remind yourself to stand up and stretch or walk around every 30 minutes. Even just a few minutes of movement can help counteract the negative effects of sitting and keep your body feeling better throughout the day.
